Hello! My name is Maddy!
I am back in Seattle after living in Dallas for four years. I graduated with a degree in Visual Journalism and a minor in Sociology from Western Washington University.
In May of 2017 I quit a job at Apple retail that I loved to continue working on something that I have wanted to do for over a decade.
At Apple I worked with an amazing team of hilarious, hard working, smart people who I learned from every day. I taught workshops, coordinated businesses to come in for one on one consulting, and I facilitated Swift Playgrounds workshops for all ages.
My goals are to:
2. Work as an Accessibility Specialist (ARIA, Section 508, WCAG, and screen reader technology).
3. Share what I know through teaching and mentoring.
4. Learn from everyone around me.
5. Continue to expand Coding Falcons, the after school coding class my co-teacher Ivette founded in 2017. Our ultimate goal is to incorporate Computer Science into standard school curriculums.
