The last guest chef (Dallas, TX)

Added on by Madeline Stevens.

This past Wednesday was another extremely productive day with yet another fantastic guest chef. Holly was so my kind of lady. She actually texted Sandra before she arrived requesting mango margaritas. Yes please. The best chefs have a drink in hand.

Holly's dish was a hearty, healthy corn chowder with red potatoes, chunks of turkey sausage topped with shredded crab. It was 85 degrees out and I still couldn't wait to inhale this dish.

I now know how to make a perfect mango margarita. Fresh mangos from Central Market, fresh lime juice from CM ($6.99!), sugar water and ice. Pour tequila over top to taste. Sandra and I enjoyed the virgin variety. We be workin'!

p.s. Holly had several great tattoos but there was one that Sandra really wanted me to see.

Holly's Be Salt tattoo. I didn't realize at the time that this was related to a verse in the bible.

Holly went on to explain that the guy who married her and her husband ended his speech by telling them that salt is everything and exists everywhere. "Salt heals, cleanses, enhances, preserves. It is eternal. Now go! Be salt!"
